I just heard former New York Police Department Commissioner Howard Safir aptly characterize San Bernadino, CA Muslim jihadist murderer Syed Farook, and his accomplice Saudi Muslim wife, Tafsheen Malik, as “true believers.” Indeed Safir’s description comports neatly with this candid assessment of Farook by the murderer’s own father:
He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim. (more…)

BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota’s High School Activities Association says it has not created a new rule banning prayer at sports games. The statement comes in response to a Facebook post of praying players that caused a stir.
A photo of the Bismarck St. Mary’s and Kindred football teams praying together after Saturday’s playoff game in Bismarck has been shared more than 2,500 times on Facebook. The post by a local resident states that the activities association “said no public prayers before the game.”

Evangelist Billy Graham speaks in Charlotte, North Carolina, May 31, 2007.
Billy Graham: It’s a Sin to Criticize Your Pastor
Responding to a question sent by an employee of a civic organization, evangelist Billy Graham acknowledges that while no pastor is perfect, it’s “wrong, and a sin in the eyes of God” for Christians to criticize their pastors.
“Why do some people seem to enjoy criticizing their pastor?” reads the question sent to the 96-year-old evangelist, according to the website of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, now headed by his son, the Rev. Franklin Graham.

Website Comment: Dear Reverend Graham. We as humans reserve the right to question our Leaders at will. We also criticize your right to criticize our right to criticize you or any other Pastor at will. There is a difference between mans laws or Gods laws and thereby you lead a flock, you may be criticized, you will be judged. You yourself have set that standard, live by it; Pastor. (more…)

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Alabama Church Builds Gun Range “In the Name of Jesus Christ”.
I don’t know the doctrine of this particular Methodist Church, so can’t really endorse the Church as a whole, but I do like the idea that they are willing to help teach their people to use their weapons safely and responsibly while reaching out to others by using a newly constructed gun range.

Baptist leaders pray for Jimmy Carter.
Condolences and well-wishes worldwide followed an Aug. 12 announcement by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter that he has cancer.
“Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body,” the 39th president and Nobel Peace Prize winner said in a brief statement on the Carter Center website. “I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week.”
Website Comments: Please pray for the honorable President Jimmy Carter, that his cancer is cured…

I pray fairly often, and it does give me a feeling of peace, but how do I know God is really listening? Sometimes I feel confident that He is, but other times I’m not so sure.
One reason we know God is listening to our prayers is because He has promised to do so-and God cannot lie! The Bible says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14).
